Rudy Candia

Rudy Candia was born in Havana, Cuba and began his study of dance at the Provincial Ballet School. In Montevideo, Uruguay he trained at the Uruguayan National Ballet School since 1996. Both his parents were principal dancers at the National Ballet of Cuba.

In Uruguay, Mr. Candia was also a member of the S.O.D.R.E. Ballet Company where he performed in their classical ballet repertoire since 1996.

Mr. Candia joined the Carolina Ballet in 2001, and performed soloist roles in Midsummer Night's Dream, Inscapes, Prodigal Son, Carmen and The Nutcracker among other performances.

Recently, he traveled to Paraguay to perform the principal roles in Giselle and La Bayadere.

Mr. Candia joined Ballet San Jose for the 2005-2006 Season.
